Dr. Miao-ling Hasenkamp joined IAMO in May 2019 as a gender equity and diversity coordinator. She previously worked as deputy gender equity officer and researcher for the faculty of human sciences/UNESCO chair of human rights education at Otto-von-Guericke University (OVGU) Magdeburg (between 2008 and 2016). Thanks to her research activities in the field of gender justice, she has been able to incorporate gender-sensible approaches into her engagements in the female young scholar mentoring programs at OVGU. As a political scientist, she has also been involved in teaching activities particularly in the fields of gender equality, women and development, gender mainstreaming in international organizations and women’s roles in post-conflict societies.
